Writing workshops
For those of you who haven’t attended one of the writing workshops t1hat the competition offers, they are designed to give your writing a little boost and help you to get a head start on your story for the competition. They are geared towards adults, whether native or non-native speakers, and are meant to teach, guide, and inspire you, the writer. The workshops are typically free of charge when we have managed to secure sponsorship.

A coalition of English speaking associations, representing British, Irish, American and other international communities in Strasbourg, has come together to set up an English short story competition. Our aim is to encourage emerging literary talent and to promote understanding, cooperation and achievement through the English language in Strasbourg, throughout Alsace and the surrounding regions.
The competition is open to everyone, regardless of nationality or native language. There are junior and adult categories (17 and under, 18 years and over), for both native and non-native speakers.

The judges have the challenging task of selecting the 20 short-listed stories and then determining the winners and runners-up in each of the four categories.
